Malaekahana Beach Campground

"We’ve stayed at Mālaekahana Campground twice now in the B sites, and previously we stayed in the A sites. Every time it has been a great experience. The sites are well maintained, the bathrooms are clean, and everything feels organized and comfortable. The rangers come by in the morning, collect trash bags, and really take care of the environment, which we truly appreciate. You can tell they care about keeping the campground clean and beautiful. Sometimes we’re not lucky with the weather, but it’s the North Shore — you just have to be ready for a little rain. Even with that, it’s still such a special place. Whether you’re coming with a group of friends or just want a quiet getaway with your partner, it’s perfect. The beach is amazing and very close to the campground. It’s great for kids, and you can enjoy swimming and beautiful sunsets. There are outdoor showers as well as regular showers, which makes everything very convenient. The only downside is that you have to book in advance through their website, and it’s not the most user-friendly. But overall, it’s a wonderful place, and we’re happy to keep coming back! "A good place for camping, great for families with children, clean, sandy beach, reef, I almost always see turtles there, there are toilets, a table at each site, and several open areas with sinks. You need to bring your own barbecue grill, and the gates are closed at night to keep out unwanted guests"

"Best campsite on the island. Such a beautiful beach park and camping so close to the ocean was such a treat. The chickens are everywhere so make sure you don’t leave any food out for them to get into, otherwise harmless little friends. The sunrise is not one to miss while staying here so make sure to enjoy the stunning view from the beach at least one morning. Nice outside showers and actual flushing toilets was a plus. Firewood available for purchase from the check in shack. Will definitely be back soon."
