Ice Monster Hawaii

"From the street entrance, I was skeptical that this place would be a great experience. The shop facade looked a little underwhelming. It did have the “as seen on CNN’s top dessert shops” sign but I thought to myself, “that’s an old sign. I bet it isn’t the same now”. I was wrong! The shave ice treats are soooooo tasty and smooth. They use real fruit ingredients and it shows. The sorbet and shave ice are extremely tasty and fresh. The prices are a bit high but you do get very large servings. I didn’t give it 5 stars because the interior of the shop is showing its age. Some of the seats are torn and stained. While waiting for our order, my wife went to find a booth and was dripped on by something coming from the ceiling. We moved to another seat and were fine."

"I thought this was a pretty fantastic shaved ice place obviously it’s a very popular dessert choice in Hawaii so there’s a lot of different stains and stores all over the place. What I liked about this one is the flavors that you choose are actually big chunks of that flavor so for example, when we chose mango, it was them shaving a massive block of mango flavored ice And the same thing goes for the strawberry. This location was very clean. I thought the bank for buck small was right on point. The large looked massive would highly recommend if you’re in downtown Honolulu and have a hankering for shaved ice with some good flavors. Parking can be tough as this is a downtown location, but we ended up parking at the international marketplace and just walking Service was friendly and courteous. Note my rating system: 1 Star: I wouldn't recommend 2 Stars: Didn't hit my standards 3 Stars: Average (nothing special) 4 Stars: Above Average. Would recommend. Still looking for the 5 Star. 5 Stars: Top of their game. Great food. Great service. Would recommend and plan on returning."

"I was a bit skeptical at first as I thought all shaved ice was created equal. This place has ice that comes out in what I would describe as ribbons, giving it a bit different texture than any other shaved ice you’ve had. I went with the mango option and it was fantastic. Make sure you ask for the condensed milk to be poured on top, as it’s a little known secret. The service was fast and friendly. A great treat while you’re basking in the sun of the Hawaiian beaches."
