Vast crater with lake & acres of plants. This 200-acre crater with lake & beach is planted with 60 acres of blooming plants, cacti & foliage.
"This botanical garden is truly unique and absolutely amazing. The variety of plants and flowers is incredible, and many of them are rare and unlike anything I had seen before. One of the things I loved most was the opportunity to explore flora from all over the world. The garden is thoughtfully organized into sections featuring plants from different countries and regions, making it both beautiful and educational. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxing, with relatively few visitors, allowing you to enjoy the scenery without crowds. Another huge bonus is that admission is free, making it an exceptional value. The garden is also located in a beautiful part of the island, which adds to the overall experience. I did not expect to see so many rare plants and impressive trees. This was one of the most memorable places we visited, and I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys nature, photography, or simply spending time in a serene setting."
"Really beautiful free botanical gardens. The cacti were amazing! Small parking lot but plenty of spaces available. Took us about 2 hours to walk through the park, taking our time. Trail is mostly flat, but rocky. No restroom, portable toilet only."
"With foresight some conscientious people set aside these 200 acres for a natural botanical garden. Since 1958, the paths and signs show their age but the plants are mature and well established. The three mile loop can be a bit rutted depending on recent rains. Best to wear closed end shoes"
